Step 1: IM=X® Pilates Basic Intensive
The IM=X® Basic intensive gives you all the knowledge needed to begin your new career in pilates and fitness in only five days. This course begins with two days of IM=X® Pilates Floor and moves into three days of the IM=X® Xercizer Program.

An intermediary step between the IM=X® Basic and the IM=X® Advanced certification courses, the IM=X® Review and Remix Workshop explores safe and effective new workout sequences, equipping you to teach a variety of new class formats and specialty routines.

Step 3: IM=X® Tower and Tower/Barre Certification
The IM=X® Tower is an exciting all-in-one apparatus that provides a cross-conditioning alternative and the perfect complement to IM=X® Xercizer routines. This certification course prepares you to teach two proprietary programs: IM=X® Tower and IM=X® Tower Barre.

The IM=X® Pilates Advanced certification expands upon the eight basic IM=X® sequences, introducing hundreds of new exercises as well as new research and new workout routines. Adding these new sequences to your IM=X® repertoire will provide your clients with new challenges and increased variety.

The IM=X® Pilates Basic certification is open to anyone – there are no prerequisites to attend, and a fitness background is not required! IM=X® Pilates is an updated approach to pilates, incorporating strength-training, cardio, and other physical disciplines for a workout that is truly unique. Our method is scientifically proven and you will learn the research behind our method. And, all of our certifications can be completed in only five days or less, with weekend and virtual options available! An IM=X® Pilates certification will allow you to enter the thriving fitness industry whether that means working at an IM=X® Pilates and Fitness franchise location, starting your own business, or working at a gym, health club, corporate wellness center physical therapy facility, or anywhere else! You should study the corresponding course manual. We recommend attending classes at your local IM=X® Pilates studio, or experiencing home workouts with our virtual OnDemand library to familiarize yourself with the programs prior to attending. We also recommend purchasing and studying The Atlas of Human Anatomy by Frank Netter. Our courses are a combination of lecture, hands-on learning, and experiencing the workouts for yourself! Come prepared to move and sweat as well as to take notes and learn from our experienced Master Trainers. You’ll be improving your body and your mind all at once! After the IM=X® Pilates Basic certification, you are required to complete a Written Exam. After all IM=X® Pilates certification courses, you are required to complete practice hours on your own and then take a Practical Exam with an IM=X® Master Trainer within three months, either virtually or in-person where available. Continuing education is recommended every two years. What are practice hours?
Practice hours are a series of hours in which you will practice teaching the IM=X® Pilates program on friends and family members. The IM=X® Pilates Basic certification course has a requirement of at least 40 practice hours, and these sessions help you to memorize and become proficient at teaching the program prior to taking your practical exam. Advanced certification courses have recommended practice teaching hours.
Who should I use as a client for my practice hours?
Friends and family members make the best clients for your apprentice hours. You are not permitted to take any payment for apprentice hours. You’ll want to find people who are willing to be patient with you as you practice. And practice makes perfect!
How many hours do I need to complete?
The IM=X® Pilates Basic certification course recommends at least 40 apprentice hours.
How do I record my practice hours?
You should journal each of your apprentice hours, making note of which client you worked with, which exercises you did, repetitions, spring loads and equipment changes, and a little bit about what happened in each session.
